Hello friend,

You’ve arrived

Welcome to chrisked.de. This is my small corner on the world (internet). Here I hope to discuss, share and advise on the topics of software, entrepreneurship and most of all startups.

Who I am

I am a German entrepreneur. And, through the project firma.de I live and breathe startups in Germany.

Since the Global Financial Crisis in 2008, the number of startups in Germany has sharply declined. I firmly believe that we need 10x more startups here to remain relevant in the technological age. Unfortunately, Germany has a bureaucracy problem. And this problem is hindering digitisation and bringing progress to a grinding halt.

I consider myself a ‘German reformer’ with the aim to lift Germany out of the dark ages into the digital age. Courage, entrepreneurship and innovation are the only ways that this is going to happen.

What I do

Through firma.de, I have been battling Germany’s bureaucracy for each and every one of its customers. I also support entrepreneurship in Germany in many other ways. Daily, I give founders advice and moral support, make introductions and referrals and sometimes I even contribute cash.

What I want to do here

Through my website I hope to share the lessons I have learned from the front lines of German entrepreneurship to help entrepreneurial folk like yourself survive and thrive in my homeland (or your own).

My USP

I offer a unique perspective. What I do on a day-to-day is the intersection of law, tax and business in Germany. You may find a better (and actual) accountant or lawyer in Germany. But, you won’t find any accountant or lawyer better at business than me. And, conversely, you won’t find any business people that know more about law and taxation than I do.

There a very few people in Germany that have the kind of experience that cuts through all the silos in the German business landscape. This gives me a tactical edge that you can take advantage of here.

My invitation to you

If you want to have a conversation about anything I have touched on then I want to hear from you. Let’s talk!

I receive an absurd number of emails (ca. 100,000 in my inbox at any given time). But, it’s not because I’m famous. I help founders form companies via the domain that is used by every fifth enterprise in Germany for testing, firma.de (aka company.com in English) - so we are fairly ubiquitous.

I do my best to answer every email from founders, students, entrepreneurs or other interested readers. Please reach out if you have something to say.

Also, no matter what, I always make time to break bread. If you are or ever find yourself in Berlin then let’s do lunch.
